Cortez – Boggy Draw

  • Quality: 3 Stars
  • Technical Difficulty:  Green/blue
  • Physical Difficulty: Easy/Moderate
  • Crowds: Some
  • Trailhead Location: 15 miles northeast of Cortez, 2 miles northeast of Dolores
  • Distance:  8.4 miles
  • Time:  1.5 to 2.5 hours
  • Summary: Gentle singletrack though the forest with plenty of options for longer rides.
  • Boggy Draw is one of the best places to ride in the Cortez area until the higher elevation riding melts out in the summer.  I think that Phil’s World and Sand Canyon are significantly better, but I can imagine that they would become much too hot by late spring, leaving Boggy Draw as the best option.
